Jim Rowan has over 25 years of experience in banking and financial services. Mr. Rowan began his banking career at Security Pacific Corporation, where he rose to the position of Corporate Senior Vice President. Mr. Rowan was responsible for all corporate acquisitions and divestitures and was a member of the Finance Committee, responsible for funding strategies and interest rate risk management. Mr. Rowan served on the Board of Directors of 4 of Security Pacific's international subsidiaries.
Following his role at Security Pacific, Mr. Rowan spent 7 years at SunAmerica, rising to the position of Corporate Senior Vice President as well as Executive Vice President of its key operating companies. In addition, Mr. Rowan served as a Member of the Board of Directors of SunAmerica following its acquisition by AIG. Mr. Rowan had responsibility for Resources Trust Company, a $30 billion FDIC insured trust company, managed the company’s technology and service organizations of over 1,000 employees, and acted as a key spokesman to investors as well as directed all corporate development and M&A activities. Additionally, Mr. Rowan was a member of the Credit Committee, with oversight of the company's investment portfolio.
After the SunAmerica acquisition by AIG, Mr. Rowan founded a high-level security start-up and a successful strategic consulting practice, during which time he acted as a Special Advisor to WellPoint, crafting and implementing an innovative financial services strategy that led to the creation of ARCUS Financial Services. Mr. Rowan has acted as the President and CEO of ARCUS Financial Services since its inception in 2004. Mr. Rowan holds a Master of Management degree with distinction from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and is a CPA.
Kent Landvatter has over 28 years of banking and financial services experience and has served in senior leadership positions at several FDIC insured institutions. His roles and responsibilities have included computer integration, program credit manager, Chief Credit Officer/EVP, and he has served on numerous risk management, asset-liability, credit and other banking committees. Most recently, Mr. Landvatter has served as President of three other FDIC-insured Utah industrial banks: American Investment Financial, World Financial Capital Bank, and Goldman Sachs Bank USA. In his various roles, Mr. Landvatter has developed a broad and deep understanding of all aspects of banking and has overseen the development of successful products and services.
Mr. Landvatter is very active in community non-profit organizations. He is currently President of the Board of NeighborWorks Salt Lake, a neighborhood revitalization organization. In addition, he serves on the boards of Junior Achievement of Utah, and the University of Utah Business Alumni Association. He also served as Chairman and President of the Utah Association of Financial Services, the association representing industrial banks.
Steve Chapton has over 20 years of banking and financial services experience. From 1994 to 2001, Mr. Chapton held various roles with Associates First Capital Corporation/Citigroup, rising to the position of Vice President Planning and Control/Accounting. Mr. Chapton was a member of the Senior Management Group and was responsible for business planning and budgeting for the Consumer Finance Operations, Credit Card Operations, and Utah Industrial Bank Charter. Following Citigroup, Mr. Chapton has held the role of Chief Financial Officer at two other Utah-based industrial banks, First Electronic Bank and Medallion Bank. In these roles, Mr. Chapton has acquired deep experience in budgeting, treasury operations, risk management, and compliance with state and federal regulators.
Judith M. Jung has over 15 years of experience with product development, business development and marketing in the health insurance sector, including consumer driven health plans. Prior to joining ARCUS, she was the Director of Product Management & Business Development for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, a comprehensive employee benefits company providing fully-insured PPO, HMO, group, individual and ancillary products, government programs, and third-party administrative services, where she was accountable for developing and executing regional product and market strategies for the Colorado and Nevada commercial group markets. Prior to joining Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Ms. Jung spent time with Sloans Lake Managed Care and FHP of Colorado in a variety of operational roles.
